In a bit of a surprise, the first tackle doesn’t come off the board until pick 9. The Saints need a ton, but more than anything they need to protect their QB (whoever that may be). The Saints make this pick as quick as they can, somewhat in disbelief that the best offensive tackle in college is still available.
